We help Runners train smarter, perform better, and enjoy the process.

Our Run Coaching Philosophy

We love running.

We also love helping runners train smarter, perform better, and enjoy the process.

We’re all about developing athletes to become the strongest versions of themselves and perform at their peak ability level. Our goal is to not only train the body to become stronger, faster, and more athletic; but also build a resilient mindset and prepare oneself to give unyielding effort.

We understand each athlete is unique and brings a one-of-a-kind story, a distinct background, individual abilities, and personal goals. Knowing this, we cater to each individual in such a way to help them learn, grow, and develop through training in order to reach their own peak performance.

Through proper evaluation and assessment, customized programming with a progressive focus (catered to each athlete's goals, needs, ability, access to equipment, schedule and preferences), individualized guidance and accountability from a coach, we help every unique athlete reach their goals.

To ensure every athlete gets the attention they deserve, we take on a select number of athletes, allowing us to fully invest in each runner’s success.

How it Works

Training Program

Comprehensive and individualized exactly to YOUR needs, goals, and current ability, and designed to help you keep seeing progress week after week. Includes run programming and strength training, with exercise videos, descriptions, and all the details you need to succeed.

On-Going Adjustments

Your program isn't something we just hand you. It's a living and changing piece that flows with you, your life, and your progress. We update your program every week depending on how things are progressing and your needs for the week.

On-Going Conversation

A big part of success is not just having a finely-tuned training plan, but giving your workouts power by knowing the "why" behind them. We're here to help give you the knowledge, tools, and strategies to help you succeed in both the short-term and long-term.

Race and Long Run Fueling

Hard workouts, long runs, and races require proper fueling to perform at your best. We’re here to help guide you through the process of what works best for you, so you feel your best and perform your best when it matters most.

Mental Performance Coaching

Training and racing demand a lot from our bodies, but just as much from our minds. We help you build confidence, and overcome performance anxiety, negativity, distractions, burnout, or return from injury.

Communication

Each week, we’ll send you an email update reviewing progress from the previous week, talk through workouts coming up, as well as continue to fine-tune your progression. Each month, we’ll have a phone call to go even deeper.

Meet Coach Michael.

Hi, I'm Coach Michael! I'm a fitness and certified nutrition coach, with a master's degree in psychology. For the past twelve years, I've been blessed with the opportunity to help hundreds of clients, from all over the world, achieve their health, fitness, and running goals.

I've had a unique running journey. I’ve taken years off from running, battled through a 3-year-long eating disorder, competed on the track, roads, and trails, and have run every distance from 200m up through 100k. I’m finally chasing my dream of the U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials. My current PR’s include:

3k: 8:35

5k: 14:45

10k: 31:36

15k: 48:19

Half-Marathon: 1:07:06

Marathon: 2:27:26

50k (Trail): 3:46

50 Mile (Trail): 6:16

I have a few spots open for coaching right now and I'd love to chat about how we could crush your goals together!

  • “Michael's coaching helped me tremendously in so many ways as a runner and athlete. While working with Michael, he changed the way I looked at training and running. His approach is holistic and incorporates both running and weight lifting. He exhibits patience as a coach and works to understand who you are and what motivates you as an athlete. Then he draws from his deep understanding of human physiology and the sport of running to cater the training in order to meet your goals and fit your schedule. My running was the best it's ever been during my time working with Michael and it's undoubtedly due to his expertise as a coach and his ability to work with individuals on a personal level to pull the most out of them.

Michael is a supportive and kind coach who allowed me to thrive as a runner and still gave me plenty of say in my training. I would very highly recommend Michael Bailey as a coach. He is someone who walks the walk and understands the sport comprehensively, which allows him to work with runners of all levels. I admire him as a runner, coach and human being. If you really want to improve as a runner, working with Michael will definitely allow you to get to the next level.”

  • “Michael has been a fantastic trainer across multiple races and multiple distance. While training with Michael, I have new personal records for 5K, 8K, 10K, 10M, and half marathon times. Yes, I am beating times from 20 years ago (thanks to Athlink I have my races scores from as far back as 1999.) He can manage both strength training and running routines and best of all he explains how an exercise is going to improve my running.

Michael also coached me through my first marathon. He was more than a trainer and coach in the final phase of training. He was in constant contact the last couple of weeks, constantly checking in on training, asking about every run, my eating, and mostly calming my nerves. I had an unrelated injury late in training and that slowed me down and Michael assured me I was ready. Without his support, I am not sure I would have gone the distance, but instead, I am training for marathon number 2."

  • “When I first started training with Michael, I wasn’t sure how well the online coaching would work.  He started out by assessing my current fitness level and desired goals.  He then proposed a weekly training plan that would work with both the equipment I have at home and my fluid schedule.  Within the first few weeks, he was able to dial in my strengths and weaknesses and ensure the program was addressing my specific needs.

Michael is always very attentive with emails and calls, checking in on my progress and answering any questions or concerns that I may have. He always evaluates my progress and needs and adjusts each workout as needed.

I can’t believe that in 3 short months he has helped me to shave so much time off of my runs and change from a quad dominant runner to really engaging my glutes and hamstrings.  Michael has a wealth of knowledge and is always very positive and encouraging.  I would highly recommend him to anyone hoping to improve their health and fitness.”
